The butterfly-inspired motif is well suited to a fine yarn and small hook because the long chains are so delicate and block nicely. The motifs don’t lie completely flat after blocking, which suggests the fluttering wings of a butterfly. The scarf is long enough to be worn in a variety of ways: wrapped loosely around your neck a couple of times in tiers for a pretty drapey display in front; worn open to display the beautiful texture and stitchwork; as a keyhole scarf because the openwork is ample for threading ends of the scarf through; or worn doubled with the ends threaded through the loop on the opposite end.
