The name of this design is inspired by the name of the colorway: Navy Pier. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for soldiers and thought this was as good a time as any to salute the soldiers, past and present, for all the bravery and awesomeness they possess. Part of the proceeds of every pattern sold will go to the Wounded Warrior Project.
The crochet design explores two of my favorite techniques: seamless crochet and crochet lace. The yoke of the capelet is worked in seamless crochet tile motifs and can easily be made into a scarf instead of the yoke of this capelet. The lower body is crocheted sideways and joined to the yoke, seamlessly of course! There are only 2 ends to weave in per ball used!
