Hot off the Press

211509-694613-thumbnail.jpgIf you haven't yet seen the Spring Issue of Cast On Magazine (Feb - Apr 2007), don't miss Kristin's Lacy Brioche Top on page 54. Its a short-sleeved, a-line lacy top with a scallop-trimmed boatneck and picot trimmed body and set in sleeves. The sweater is worked in Alpaca Yarn Company's Glimmer, a fingering weight baby alpaca with a holographic fiber running through it; hence the name Glimmer.

The sweater comes in a range of sizes, from 36" to 48" (actual bust + 4" ease). The brioche stitch, when blocked gives the appearance of lace (but much, much easier!) and the picot and scallop trims have a delicate, vintage vibe.
